Celina Amaya  (b.1976) is an artist currently based in Santa Barbara, CA.
She holds a BFA from Museum School of Fine Arts (Boston, Ma.) and a MFA from George Washington University (Washington, DC.)

Amaya’s work investigates the landscape as a site of the sublime—where beauty, awe, fear, and ecological anxiety converge. Her practice engages with both the physical terrain and the internal, psychological landscapes we carry within our bodies, reflecting a dual exploration of outer environment and inner experience. Through a collection of paintings, drawings, and sculptural objects, she meditates on the reciprocal relationship between human beings and the land: how we shape it, and how, in turn, it imprints upon us.
